Portugal – Bookstore


The oldest and still operating bookstore in the world, according to the Guinness Book of Records, in 2011, is found in Lisbon, Portugal. 
It is the Bertrand bookstore, and it was opened in 1732 by Pedro Faure.  However, in 1755, the bookstore was destroyed by the Lisbon Earthquake of 1755.  It was later rebuilt.
