Poland – Auschwitz, Oswiecim


In 1939 – 1945, Germany invaded Poland.  In 1947 the Auschwitz- Birkenau State Museum was opened, and in 1979, UNESCO named this sight a World Heritage Site.  
The museum is also called: Memorial and Museum, Auschwitz – Birkenau, Former German Nazi Concentration and Extermination Camp.
