Kyrgyzstan - World Nomad Games

The first World Nomad Games was held on 9th Sept – 14 Sept 2014 in Kyrgyzstan, and 538 athletes and 19 countries participated.  Then the country hosted the second Games in 2016, and 1200 athletes and 62 countries participated.  The third Games were hosted here in 2018, and 3000 athletes and 77 countries were a part of it.

Stop Blocking Intersections and Crossings

In many countries, it is illegal for drivers to block intersections and pedestrian crossings. However, it appears as though many drivers do not know this, or maybe they do not care. Time and time again, pedestrians are struggling to get to the other side of the road while standing at intersections. Pedestrian crossings are there for a reason. They are not useless white marks on the streets! As time goes by, this situation is becoming worst, and it is more trying during the winter seasons when snow floats from the heavens like cotton candy and covers trees, rooftops, roads and everything in its path. Imagine standing in freshly fallen snow for ten minutes at an intersection with children, and one or two of them are in a stroller! How much do you like that? True, one or two drivers can miss average the gap, but come on, every time that the traffic light changes? Andorra – A Shared Country

Andorra is sandwiched between France and Spain, and it is co-governed by the President of France and the Bishop of Urgell, who is in Spain.  Although Andorra has accommodations for a few helicopters, there are no airports here.  In fact, its closest airports are in France and Spain.  Therefore, those desiring to visit this country must travel through France or Spain and then travel by land, to get here. Perhaps due to sharing governmental powers, this country also shares the postal system.  France’s post boxes in this country are yellow, while Spain’s are red.
