Jamaica - Independence

Jamaica was the fourth country in the Caribbean to gain independence.  It gained it from the British on the 6th of August 1962.

The Guatemalan Quetzal is this country’s legal currency.   The word quetzal is from the country’s national bird, the Resplendent Quetzal.   Many years ago, the tail feathers of these beautiful birds were used as currency.
