Sweden – Waste Handling

Only about one percent of waste in Sweden goes to the landfill.  Additionally, the country imports about 1.3 million tonnes of waste every year from Norway and the United Kingdom.  The other ninety-nine percent is recycled or used for energy in the country.

Guatemala – Currency

The Guatemalan Quetzal is this country’s legal currency.   The word quetzal is from the country’s national bird, the Resplendent Quetzal.   Many years ago, the tail feathers of these beautiful birds were used as currency.
