In 2015, the Halo Trust declared this country free of
landmines. This Trust has removed more
than 170,000 landmines from Mozambique.
There is now the hope that these “free” lands can be
put to agriculture or some other productive use.
The Republic of Vanuatu is made up of eighty-three islands in the South Pacific Ocean. Many of these islands are inhabited. The country has three official languages, and they are Bislama, English and French.
