Iceland – No “Surnames”

There are no “surnames” in this beautiful country. “Surnames” here comprises the first name of one or both of the parent’s first names with the “title” son or daughter added to it.

Therefore, usually, the children do not have the same last name as their parents.  It is the Nordic naming system.
