A “Lickle” About A Country/Dependent

I would like to share two things about countries and dependencies in the world with you during May. Even though we are not as isolated from each other as we once were, we still do not know as much as we can about each other.

I know I'm starting a bit late, but I'll try to make up for this by posting more than one post a day.

So, let me begin with Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.

Puerto Rico

* Puerto Rico is officially bilingual. However, you will find Spanish being spoken more frequently than English.

* Puerto Ricans became American citizens in 1917.

The Dominican Republic

* The Dominican Republic is the second-largest country in the Caribbean at about 18,815 sq mi.

* Christopher Columbus' brother Bartholomew is the founder of Santo Domingo de Guzman, it's capital. He founded it between 1496 and 1498.

True, one or two drivers can miss average the gap, but come on, every time that the traffic light changes? Pedestrians are not beggars at the side of the road, asking drivers to show them mercy by allowing them to get to the other sid...
