Where Do Children Belong?

It was recently televised in North America that a mother was “put off” a public service bus because her baby was crying and the child would not stop.

Also, there has been an increase in the number of restaurants with the “no children are allowed” sign.

There is no doubt that owners have the right to decide who can and cannot walk through their doors, so we will not pick this apart.

However, we will ask a question here, and it is, is this a public display of the age-old saying, - children should be seen and not heard in the public domain? On the one hand, we say to them – we are so glad that you are here, you are our future, but on our other hand, we say –you are here for the future, not for the present, so please, be quiet and wait until then.

Well, how has that been working out for us so far? Can we have them grown without them being small? Can we have one without the other?

At least some libraries in the children’s area say to them – hey, here’s a place for you to be seen and heard, in the public domain.

They are allowed to talk, albeit quietly, in these libraries, and the materials are place within their reach and many more things.

Children are blessings to their family and the society in which they are in, yes, blessings and not burdens.

Burkina Faso – In Need

Many countries around the world are advising their citizens not to visit Burkina Faso, at this time, unless it is an essential trip. It is mainly due to the unrest in the country. The is a country faced with many troubles. Citizens and visitors alike are being killed, yet travellers ignore these government-issued advisories and go headlong into the country.  In December 2018, the government here declared a state of emergency for specific places in the country. And earlier this year, they extended this emergency by six months. In January 2019, the Prime Minister and his cabinet quit. Andorra – A Shared Country

Andorra is sandwiched between France and Spain, and it is co-governed by the President of France and the Bishop of Urgell, who is in Spain.  Although Andorra has accommodations for a few helicopters, there are no airports here.  In fact, its closest airports are in France and Spain.  Therefore, those desiring to visit this country must travel through France or Spain and then travel by land, to get here. Perhaps due to sharing governmental powers, this country also shares the postal system.  France’s post boxes in this country are yellow, while Spain’s are red.
