Where Are The - Say No To Drugs - Campaigns?

It seemed like such a long time ago when campaigns against illegal drugs were a major priority in our societies. At that time, educators were visiting schools intending to educate about the dangers of using narcotics.  Additionally, wherever we looked, there was a poster to encourage us to keep away from them.

Where are the educators today?

Many things have indeed changed since the ’90s, and many more things are demanding our attention today, but what about illegal substances?

What about the previous campaigns? Were they so successful that everyone received the message, and because of that, we do not have a drug problem in our societies today?

Now and then, a trickle of information such as the abuse of legal drugs are just as dangerous as the abuse of illegal ones, comes through the media, and if we are looking for information on this topic, we could find it. Nevertheless, is this enough?

Whether adults or younger, our children need to know that it is better to say no to drugs than yes to a possible life of destructiveness.

In some societies, it seems as though it is the norm for them to use illegal substances, and if any individuals among them do not use them, they are looked upon as being “strange.”

Many other things need to be campaigned about, such as bullying, online safety, cancer, Aids… oh no, Aids is no longer a problem in our societies. There is a cure for it, isn’t there?

Well, indeed, there are many things that we need to address. Therefore, let’s not put aside any of these issues by thinking that one “thing” is more important than another.

Stop Blocking Intersections and Crossings

In many countries, it is illegal for drivers to block intersections and pedestrian crossings. However, it appears as though many drivers do not know this, or maybe they do not care. Time and time again, pedestrians are struggling to get to the other side of the road while standing at intersections. Pedestrian crossings are there for a reason. They are not useless white marks on the streets! As time goes by, this situation is becoming worst, and it is more trying during the winter seasons when snow floats from the heavens like cotton candy and covers trees, rooftops, roads and everything in its path. Imagine standing in freshly fallen snow for ten minutes at an intersection with children, and one or two of them are in a stroller! How much do you like that? True, one or two drivers can miss average the gap, but come on, every time that the traffic light changes? Pedestrians are not beggars at the side of the road, asking drivers to show them mercy by allowing them to get to the other sid...
